Hello everyone,

I am getting a message ACPI error something that appears for a very brief moment before the open core boot menu. Can someone please look at my EFI and help me get rid of that?

could you try this config and see if it is the same or not?

config.plist.zip 6.3 kB · 2 downloads

worked like a charm to eliminate the said error. Thanks a ton.

There's another error though (not due to using this config, already existed since I upgraded to Ventura) that the onboard wifi works on and off. I have the alpha kext Airportlwm v2.2.0 from around 2 weeks back. Any suggestions for that? 🙂

I realize this is an old post (and if I've missed the solution shown here and I'm repeating what is known, my apologies), but the problem posted has plagued me on Ventura on both the AMD and Intel platforms, until a couple of days ago when I stubbled across two steps to fix the problem. (While I do read this thread, I've been absent due to various family matters of life and death that fortunately resulted in life.) The fix shown below works for both AMD and Intel platforms.

Anyhow, previous to Ventura, one could type the following (spoiler) and get a listing of macOS versions to download:

Spoiler

now broken:

curl -O https://raw.githubusercontent.com/munki/macadmin-scripts/main/installinstallmacos.py && sudo /usr/bin/python installinstallmacos.py --raw --seedprogram DeveloperSeed

In Ventura, you get the error as shown at the top of this post. The fix is to install python 2.7.x, which can be downloaded here (a copy is attached to this post).

After installing, perform the certificate confirmation step:

1978462496_PythonCertification.thumb.png.06646ab77a735691e1415b199d8e29a3.png

The certification will open Terminal and show this result:

confirmation.thumb.png.bb9edee000a8c1d9abc888b561514f7f.png

Next, open a new window in Terminal and enter "pip install xattr", which will return the following:

Finally, you can now enter a modification of the old command (spoiler), which simply uses a new path to python:

Spoiler

curl -O https://raw.githubusercontent.com/munki/macadmin-scripts/main/installinstallmacos.py && sudo /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/bin/python installinstallmacos.py --raw --seedprogram DeveloperSeed

Once completed, you'll be shown the familiar macOS selection within Terminal (spoiler):

Want to share my good news with you guys. I've got RX 6950XT and successfully spoofed as 6900XT. Had to disable Resizable bar since it created instability, computer was rebooting as soon as any GPU intensive task happen. After that everything is great. Metal score is attached. 🙂

Thank you.

Its a great performer (AMD 9 7950x) but with 32 cores, the TRX40 3970x still wins!

True in multi core tasks

in daily usage, like editing with davinci resolve or many tasks with after effects or photoshop it is faster about 20% compared to 3970x

Out of interest @fabiosun how much did you sell your 3970x for?

I bought with that money my system and I have about 1000€ more in my pocket

but I did only because I didn’t change my system from too much time

as last consideration I am happy of this system as I was in the past with trx40 one

Hello,

I bought an AMD Radeon Pro W6800.

AMD

It is natively recognized by OSX.

My first idea was to part with my two Amd Radeon Pro WX9100.

But I noticed that the card heats up very quickly at 100° with peaks at 105° when the gpu is used at 100% with Resolve for example.

I understand better why there has never been a blower model on the 6000 series when Gigabyte had planned a RX6900XT blower version when this series of this type of GPU was announced.

And I also realize that Apple is only adding the X on these versions. The temperatures are also identical on their models.

So I chose to install it on slot 3.

Installation note:

If the card is installed as the main GPU on slot 1 with the monitors connected to it. I have to deactivate the WhatereverGreen kext otherwise it's the black screen before the opening of the session.

If the card is installed on slot 3 with the screens connected to a WX9100 in slot 1. I can keep the WhatereverGreen kext. This is my current setup.

Which allows me to use it as a pure GPU for all the software from which you can choose your working GPU, for example like this:

adieu 🙂

GoodBye 🙂

Ciao 🙂

(joking a bit)

Personally,

My Trx40 platform will be my first and last Hackintosh,

I am very happy with my setup. It's super stable. But it's not a Mac.

In view of the ultraStudio pro Max and its performance with the Neat Video plug-in (real time on a 25 P HD timeline, by the way also my config in Resolve)

I'm waiting for the release of the M3 generation to switch again to a Mac (It's not my fault, I've been fed since my childhood on the Mac 🤣😂).

in this condition it should work adding pikera bootarg (we have same behaviour with 6900 xt
